About the event

When we consciously invite Silence into our lives, we open to life giving nourishment. In the stillness the connection with a deeper part ourselves may be revealed. As we come into Presence we can find the peace and joy that is our inner home. Just breathing, listening, feeling, allowing and acceptance. Simply being with whatever arises in each moment. We choose to keep our retreats simple, and yet our experience can be quite profound.

Silent Presence was co-created by therapists Jenny Brooke and Jenny Brickett in 2005 after they had spent many times together in Silent Meditation then developing the process over a period of two years. The purpose of Silent Presence is to become aware of and spend time in the present moment, observing how our mind and emotions continually attempt to take us away from this space. During Silent Meditation it becomes possible to touch this space and we begin to discover we can return there and give ourselves deep inward time for ourselves.

During the retreat time will be spent in sitting meditation within the group, and walking meditation alone in nature. The latter gives the opportunity of deeper connection with whatever we encounter in the natural surroundings wherever we are. Help is always available as and when needed throughout the retreat. There are also suggestions and support for taking Silent Presence into our daily lives.

Jenny Brooke lived and worked at the Findhorn Foundation in the 1970’s. She is a trained Rebirther, breath-work therapist and meditation teacher. She worked at the Hamar Cancer Help centre teaching relaxation and meditation, trained with the Health Education Council and ran Look After Yourself courses for various councils as well a being in private practice for many years. She is a Reiki master and reflexologist and currently runs several retreats each year in North Wales and Shropshire. She will be assisted on this weekend by her husband John who attends all her retreats.
