A gentle introduction class to Hatha Yoga over five weekly sessions. Classes consist of posture work, breathing techniques and meditative practices. The movements are done slowly and mindfully in co-ordination with the breath. Val is passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age or physical fitness. She teaches in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya, who is often thought of as the "father of modern, western, transnational yoga". She holds teaching diplomas in Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Krama Yoga and has trained in natural breath awareness meditation and the Vasistha method of pranayama (yoga breathing techniques). Covid precautions will be in place including; a limit of 8 students to allow for 2 metre physical distancing, all staff double vaccinated and high levels of ventilation subject to weather conditions. Please wear loose, warm and comfortable clothing (ideally consisting of layers), and bring a pair of indoor shoes to change into at the door. £8 per session, which can be paid for by monthly subscription of £20 per month for two months.
